Offering DIY hunts for Elk and Mule Deer on over several thousand acres of private land, BLM, National Forest, State Land in GMU’s 11, 22, 23 and 52. Hunting land usually consists of Dark timber, aspen trees, open meadows, cottonwood trees, river bottoms with willows, rolling hills, sage brush, juniper pinion trees, cedar trees, oak brush, creeks, ponds and streams & hay fields. You also have the opportunity, at your choosing, to hunt the state and BLM lands that border our private properties. Our unit 11 Pinon Ridge Property is less than a mile from the unit 10 boundary, which is a trophy unit for the State of Colorado.

Located in the beautiful White River Valley which includes the Gorgeous Flat Top Wilderness area and The Grand Mesa National Forest area that is in the great towns of Meeker and Cedaredge in the Northwest corner of Colorado. Hunting elevations will range from approximately 6500 to 8000 feet.

Elk hunting areas are in 4-point or better game management units, thereby increasing your chances of taking a mature bull elk. Typically, our hunters achieve a successful harvest on 4-point or better bull elk, with several bulls running in the 5 to 6 point range. They are generally scoring in the ranges from 250″-300″ with a potential chance at some over 300″.

This area is known as some of the best deer country in Northwest Colorado. The terrain is rolling sage hills with draws and canyons, hay fields, river bottoms, meadows, juniper-pinon trees, and cedar trees, that offer you some exciting hunting experiences.

Mule deer hunts usually run during the rut, and there are landowner vouchers available to assist of hunters if needed for an extra cost. Some units don’t take any points to draw depending on what season and unit it’s for.

On these private properties you can usually drive your personal vehicle right to the camp locations, weather permitting. We would recommend that you bring a UTV or ATV to drive around instead of your vehicle. It will be more manageable.

Our unit 23 “The Anderson Ranch” property has 2 small cabins that sleep 2 people each, a cook cabin and a cabin with a toilet and shower in it. It is just across the road from the public State Wildlife area which is 6000+/- acres. You have the opportunity to hunt that area if you choose. If you travel approximately 15-20 minutes east you can get into the national forest, and there is a significant amount of property to hunt as well.

You will need to bring in your personal hunting gear, food, propane bottles for the cooking stoves, and your own paper goods such as paper plates, plastic silverware, toilet paper and paper towels. There is also running water there, however we would recommend that you bring bottled water for drinking.

The camping equipment will be set on all private properties in units 11 (Pinon Ridge, Upper Coryell, The Keystone Ranch & Smith Gulch) for your hunt. It consists of two wall tents, one sleep tent and one cook tent. One Camp chief stove (2 burner) is supplied, cots, propane heaters, lanterns, chairs, tables, along with a few miscellaneous pots and pans. You will need to bring in your personal hunting gear, food, small propane bottles for the lanterns and propane bottles for the heaters and cooking stove and your own paper goods such as paper plates, plastic silverware, cooking utensils, toilet paper and paper towels and water. (No toilet services are available.) You might want to bring in your own pots and pans for the type of food you’re cooking. You are responsible for packing out your own game and trash.
